Project Slimnules - Day 17

Just a quick check in. I've been pretty much on track with my exercising. I've really been enjoying it. Been using some home workouts that have a lot more dancing in them so they are keeping my entertained and the fun factor keeps me motivated. Not too much has changed measurement-wise, still the same weight but I have lost an inch around my belly. It's tempting to be discouraged at the fact that nothing else has changed but it's only been a couple weeks and one inch off so far is a step in the right direction. It definitely helps motivate me to keep going and feel like I can accomplish more. Since starting to exercise, it feels like I have more energy and surprisingly, have also felt more creative. I've been knitting and drawing quite a bit. More drawing than I have done in a long time. I did a couple watercolours last wknd and did some pen and ink sketches this wknd. I knit a beret last Sunday, finished pk's Slocks this past week and planning on starting a new project - though haven't decided what it should be yet.

Project Slimnules begins! - Day 1



It's been way too long since I was here last but that's gonna change. I'm coming back to the open arms of my blog to keep myself accountable and on track on my new project.

Project Slimnules

In the past year and a half, I've gained about 30 lbs. I've become sedentary and feel like a giant blob so it's time to do something about it. My goal is to lose at least 20 lbs by August 1st. I'm not so much attached to a particular number, just that I get more active and look and feel healthier. I'd be happy even if I stay the same weight but gain more muscle.

I took "Before" pics and my measurements. I won't post the pics yet... but I'll document my measurements. These numbers may not look too bad but it's quite a bit of extra flab being carried around on my 5'2" frame.

Weight: 124.6 lbs
R. Arm: 12.75"
L. Arm: 11.75"
Chest: 33"
Waist: 27"
Lower Belly: 33"
Hips: 38.75"
R. Thigh: 23"
L. Thigh: 22.5

I'm putting it out there that these numbers will be going down in the next few month. I plan to measure myself every month and track the changes.

The Plan:
Daily exercise - using a combination of workout DVDs I will be exercising at least once each day.
I already have relatively healthy eating habits but there's always room for improvement. Being mostly vegetarian, I've got the veggie thing down. I love them all. What I will be cutting back on is my portions when I eat out as well as cutting down to one beer or alcoholic bev an evening.

So there it is.. for all the interweb to see. I'm asking you all to be supportive and to also hold me accountable. If I'm faltering, I need to be called out... in a nice way ;)

I'm quite excited to see the results!
