Weehee! It's snowing. Not just in the mountains this time but here in Vancouver too which is quite rare for winter so I'm very excited. It's so nice to see it falling outside the window. Pk and I went for a walk last night in it. It's not staying on the ground though... I can't wait to go skiing.
The snow reminded me of my trip to the mountains back in August. It's hard to believe that it's been almost 4 months since Outward Bound. Hiking up the side of a glacier with a 50lb pack on my back. My knees are pretty wrecked from it still, but they're getting better. I've got "find a physiotherapist" on my List of Things To Do.
It's been another busy few weeks at work. I have a great new Creative Manager at work so I'm happy to be part of a Creative Team. I'm so used to being the only one to do everything - ideas, design, pre-press, all the way to final print. I'm enjoying being able to give and get ideas from others on the team who I can use 'design speak' with. We can talk about type faces and kerning and all that fun stuff.
A co-worker of mine, Suz, took me to a women's gathering last week. It was Dream Board making night. I finally got a chance to create a dream board for myself. PK and I had been planning for a while to do it. We went out and bought tonnes of magazines and picked out some bristol board and glue. I spent a couple evenings after work cutting out images and words and phrases to use and then Suz invited me to go with her. I brought all my clippings and was able to hang out, meet some people, and paste to my heart's content. I'll take a pic of it and post it this week. I posted it up at work so I could look at it throughout the day and remind myself of my dreams.
- side note -
When Suz and I drove into the parking lot of the building before the dreamboard night, we could see a big flock of crows hanging out at the end of the parking lot and we remarked on how many there were. When we got out of the car, I looked up and realized I was in a scene from the movie Birds. There were crows EVERYWHERE!!! Every tree that lined the parking lot was filled with crows, more crows than leaves. Every inch of the surrounding power lines were covered with crows. It was quite an extremely creepy and surreal experience. We walked quickly into the building to avoid getting attacked. When we came out at the end of the night, poor Suz's car had been bombed. Giant white splats draped her formally red car. ICK!!!
