one hell of a week....

So it's been one hell of a week... the only problem we've had in the whole moving process is with the moving company who is "supposed" to be moving our stuff. they were supposed to come on the friday before we left.. they then told us it would all be picked up first thing sunday morn - they never showed up - and finally after many phone calls and messages left, we finally were able to find out that they would be coming on monday morning (the day of our flight) We told them that we had to leave by 1pm to catch our flight.. so of course they came at 12:40pm.... and took over an hour to load the truck.. we caught our flight just in time... it was just like the movies.. with the both of us rushing to check in our luggage, AND the cats, then running through the airport to our gate where they are calling our names over the intercom as they start to get ready to close the gate. We arrived in Vancouver and made our way to our hotel where we stayed for three days. It's so strange not having a job to go to in the mornings. I had no idea what to do with myself.. so i watched tv and went swimming... fun.. but i miss working.

We moved into our new place on the first of sept. We found out on Saturday that our stuff is not leaving until tuesday (TODAY!!!) So we have another week until our belongings arrive. Since our belongings are apparently still in Toronto.. we had to go to Ikea and buy a new bed and a couple of chairs for our place. Above is a pic of our first dinner in our new place. We got some great ikea chairs but had to do with our makeshift cardboard box dining table. but paul's spaghetti was as yummers as ever. mmm!

i've uploaded some pics to my photoblog of our surrounding neighbourhood (our street and lynn canyon - check out the giant slugs they have here!) and vancouver's stanley park. great walk!

Good to hear that you 'n Paul are finally there. Maybe it's just me, but I think it's probably a good thing that you have no job and no unpacking to do - more time to do what you want!!!

(psssst... your profile still says Toronto)
